Coaching & Consulting

FOR LEADERS, TEAMS, AND ORGANIZATIONS

If you are seeking to build a workplace culture in which everyone knows their contribution matters, your entire team participates in creative problem solving, and people fight for each other more than for their own turf, I can help you get there.

My unique blend of training, facilitation and coaching can be tailored to your particular needs. I have worked with small Executive Teams, a larger bench of Senior Leaders, and staff of up to 100 to help individuals and teams get unstuck, connect and thrive. From curricula to frameworks, tools to case examples, stories to provocative questions, I can tailor a program that adapts to you.

Outcomes

Results are achieved with greater ease because relationships have been strengthened through elevated self-awareness, empathy and communication skills, and processes have been clarified in which previously opaque roles, responsibilities and decision making processes are now clear and transparent.

Typical Program Elements

Team Building (Team Coaching, Training, and Retreats)

Prior to becoming a certified professional coach, I worked for over a decade as a facilitator and trainer.  My first love in social change was tapping into the power of the group as a vehicle for collective learning and action.  And in fact, some of the most powerful personal learning I’ve witnessed happen in group processes. Today I provide a range of services for teams that often bring the best of group coaching, adult learning,  facilitation, and group dynamics to teams. Services include:

As a team coach, I use a combination of reflection on real time meetings, learning labs – or scenario/role play work, and guided discussions to support teams to break through unconscious habits (like protecting turf, checking out, dominating, or avoiding) and reconnect to one another, themselves, and the work.

In the training space, I offer original curricula that I have developed over the last two decades, influenced by any of the great organizations I have been trained by myself, or worked with as faculty. Training can happen online or in person. Topics include: Coaching for Managers, Giving and Receiving Feedback, Supervision, Equity and Belonging, Allyship for All, and Group Facilitation.

I bring facilitation services to a variety of planning processes: Board or staff strategic plan, developing or refreshing a theory of change, mission, vision and values, or establishing a charter and/or workplan for a committee. I also facilitate conflict resolution between individuals who are seeking to learn, grow, repair and reconnect through principled and generative conflict.

All the services above are even more powerful when paired with individual coaching for either the CEO or Executive Director and/or each member of the leadership team. I tap into a network of like minded and highly trained coaches to offer individual coaching to a large team.

Organizational Strategy

As a trusted advisor, I work with designated leads on aspects of organizational change, strategy and improving organizational effectiveness. Services include:

I work with you to design, administer, analyze and report on employees’ experiences in the workplace. I then facilitate discussions that help you and your team make meaning out of the data. I bring my background in program evaluation to support organizations by making data accessible and easy to understand. I also contextualize it as part of a broader story that helps everyone see, from multiple perspectives, how your organization is showing up now and possibilities for the future.

I work with organizations in performance management to define and develop behavioral competencies that describe both technical expectations of roles, but also the illusive “soft” skills – that often are essential to success – of being an inclusive and relationally strong leader. These clear competencies set the foundation for equitable and expansive feedback conversations, which are the cornerstone of a healthy workplace.

What does your organization believe are the root causes of the problems it exists to address? What does your organization believe about how change happens? When do you partner, when you do you agitate? How community led are you? Who else in the eco-system can you rely on to do similar or different work? What is your long term vision and what do you hope to achieve in the short term? What are your primary approaches to getting to those outcomes? These are questions that I help organizations grapple with, answer, and communicate in visually compelling ways and with clear language.

“My personal hope for each of you is that you find your voice and that leading at this organization feels like a joy, something that expands the possibility for relationships, trust, and impact.”

PAST PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS

Discovery & Design

In this phase I get to know you and your organization. I will often interview key stakeholders, review your existing materials, and work with your designated internal lead to tailor my program to meet your unique needs and meet you where you are along your equity journey. In this phase I also often administer an initial survey that sets us up to understand the program’s impact by the conclusion.
